grape tomatoes
Mom brought home grape tomatoes for our salad last night. Julian was curious and tasted one and LOVED it. He probably ate 6 or 7 little tomatoes and we bragged on him for being such a big healthy eater. Annabelle said, "I want one", so we gave it to her and she spit it everywhere. "Gross, that's disgusting" she declared.
Trying not to let Julian realize that it wasn't the most popular snack among kids, we kept pumping him up, "what a big boy you are, Juju! I'm so proud of you for eating all those tomatoes!"
Finally, Bella had had enough. She threw herself dramatically across the kitchen table, and declared, "IT'S NOT FAIR!!! It's not fair that my mouth just doesn't like the way they taste!!!"

that's adorable!! i felt compelled to comment after learning your kids' names ... both of our kids were meant to be annabelle if they were girls (one ended up being a henry, the other a harper ... my dad made too much fun of annabelle and i didn't want to strap her with that), and i was pulling for julian for our second, whether boy or girl, but hubby kept saying, "julie. i like julie." i'd say no, not julie. julian. he'd say, "oh. huh." not a good sign.
so anyway, just had to say hi.

too funny - she cracks me up! I just love your Bella & Julian stories ... grape tomatoes just aren't her thing. I'm sure you can find a veggie that suits her mouth. :)
she kills me. i wonder where she gets all that personality from!?!? :) hehe
Viv is just the opposite. She is a veggie eater! Loves those grape tomatoes especially. She really likes to bite into them when they are not all the way in her mouth so that they squirt all over! Fun Fun.
