Lime

New Favorite Toy

Bella has discovered a lime tree in the garden. It is just out of reach, but if she climbs on top of the BBQ pit, and balances along the wall, and reaches really far, she can grab the limes. She plucked this beauty off last night, and we spent the better part of an hour playing catch, roll the lime, and "keep away" from Juju. Julian demanded his own lime, and placed it in his little toy bus and pulled the lime around the house for the longest time. His was taken away shortly after he bit into the skin and proceeded to eat the lime, peel and all.
Bella, however, CHERISHES her lime. She laid on the couch after Julian went to bed and sang to her "baby lime". She and the lime watched Lion King together. She refused to go to bed without it, even asking me to put her treasured babies, the stuffed animals, on the floor, so she and her lime could be more comfortable.
She woke up this morning, still clutching her little green baby lime, and they ate breakfast together, played Little People together, and now the lime is safely napping, while Bella and Dustin head to town for rice. I hope the lime knows how lucky it is to have such a loyal friend as Annabelle. Anybody else would chop it in half and squeeze it's guts out over their lunch...
